Bjorn’s visit to the 2018 IFAT Trade Show in Munich resulted in Civic importing and trialling a fleet of wheelie bin vacuum units.
These units are designed for quick and easy suction of loose litter in parks and streetscapes – work which is traditionally completed by hand or with a brush and shovel and is often slow and laborious. Our three-month trial of the wheelie bin vacuums is now complete, and we are pleased with how well the concept works. The vacuum bins increased the efficiency of litter collection, as well as the ability to collect difficult litter such as cigarette butts. We have made further modifications to the original design of the wheelie bin units to improve their stability and manoeuvrability.
